The Building Commission protects consumers by setting standards and ensuring contractors have the skills, experience and financial capacity to deliver quality building services.
It is illegal for an individual, partnership or company to contract for or carryout a building service without first obtaining the appropriate license or registration.
Before entering into an agreement with a building service provider check that their registration or license is current on one of the registers below.
Please note, the Building Commission does not publish business or trading names. Business names are available from the Business Names Register administered by the Department of Commerce.
Confirmation of a company name can also be confirmed with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
