This one day course outlines how AS/NZS 1668.1 applies the principles of smoke control in multi-compartment buildings. Why is smoke control required in buildings? What are the hazards generated by smoke and how does smoke move? Plus details on occupant escape.
This course also examines the specification, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire and smoke dampers, and provides the information required to determine the proper parameters for selection, installation, commissioning and essential maintenance of fire dampers and smoke dampers in use in buildings.

The Building Commission will be conducting a series of regional information sessions for people who work in the building industry. Topics include: building approvals process, home indemnity insurance, complaints resolution process, builder compliance program, home building contracts act, registration and licensing, building policy updates, construction contracts act. Induction sessions are designed for recently licensed plumbers to assist them with understanding how to complete paperwork and the requirements and obligations under the Water Services Licensing Act 2005.
